이강훈 개인전

공동체와 집단의식을 중요시했던 과거에 비해 현대인들은 개인의 삶에 초점을 맞추어 살아갑니다. 개인의 중요성이 대두되고 있는 사회에 살고 있지만 ‘나’를 구성하는 자아와 나를 둘러싼 타자의 존재를 인식하고 깊이 성찰하려는 시도는 현실 속에서 잘 이루어지지 않습니다.

관계성이 인간의 본질이며, 타자와의 상호관계를 통해 끊임없이 변화하는 것이 자아라고 보는 이강훈 작가는 인간에 대한 관념들을 그의 시각으로 재해석하여 작품을 완성합니다. 여러 관계 속에서 상호간에 영향을 주고받는데도 불구하고 서로에 대한 완벽한 이해는 불가능하며, 실체를 확인할 수도 없다는 점에서 기인하여 그는 자신의 작업을 소통과 이해의 통로로 활용합니다.

이강훈 작가의 “부유하는 표상”, 그리고 Composition 연작에서는 인간에 대한 근원적인 물음과 작가 자신만의 예술적 표현의 고뇌가 엿보입니다.

이번전시를 통해 가시적인 것과 비가시적인 것,

형이상학적인 것과 형이하학적인 것,

존재와 실존의 문제들을 함께 생각해보는 전시가 될 것입니다.

Unlike the past when community took up the major part of life, contemporary people focus on their personal lives. Although the importance of individual is constantly rising, an attempt to perceive and examine identity that forms “oneself” and existence of people around oneself has not been made successfully.

Artist Kang-hun Lee takes a view that relationship is the essence of what makes a human, and identity is an ever-changing feature in correlation with strangers. He completes his artwork by re-interpreting the concepts of humans through his own perspective. Based on the fact that it is impossible to fully understand one another even though people influence others in a diversity of relationship, he seeks to use his works for a pathway to communicate and understand each other.

In his successive works, "Floating Representation" and “Composition”, he is concerned with basic questions of humans and agony of artistic expressions.

Although Rodin had dealt with “Door in Hell” for about 30 years until the day he died, repeatedly creating and eliminating hundreds of drawings and over 200 esquisse sculptures, he ended his life without completion. His deep insights into humans, which led to his humanities, philosophical research, are also expressed in his work.

We invite you to Kang-hun Lee’s exhibition, which would allow you to contemplate the visible and the invisible, metaphysics and physical science, and other existential problems.
